Hostel Day1 - The Royal College

The Hostel day of Royal College is the culmination of a year’s work at the Royal College Hostel. Although the Royal College Hostel Day traces its origins back into the nineteen hundreds there was a hiatus of nine years after the last hostel day in 2003. The hostel day was re-initiated in 2012 and held on the 1st of December under the guidance and the patronage of the Prefects’ Council of 2011/2012.

The hostel day showcases the diverse talents of the hostelers and provides a platform for the hostelers to try their hands at new things. The hostel day comprises of numerous singing items, short skits and dancing items and as such the hostelers delight both themselves and their parents by taking part in these items.

Prizes for the hostel inter house sports meet are also awarded at the hostel day under the patronage of a distinguished chief guest. With a majority of the hosteler’s family attending this momentous occasion the prize winners are given the best possible recognition for their achievements.

The hostel day is one of the biggest events in College and has been lauded for its unique and innovative nature. A proper education at Royal is not limited to learning of books. The hostel day is an opportunity of recognizing those who have learnt of men and learned to play the game.
