Tap 7s, the seven a side tap rugby tournament co-organized by the Interact Clubs of Trinity College, Kandy and Royal College  will take place for the fourth consecutive year, this December at the newly renovated Racecourse grounds in Colombo.

Tap 7s is an annual Club Service project done by the two clubs with the aim of showcasing Interactors’ talents on the sports field as well as promoting skills such as Teamwork and Leadership, providing a more accessible platform than the general format of the sport.

The tournament consists of two legs, one each held in Colombo and Kandy for schools of the respective areas. The format for each leg is a “Super 8” knockout following a round robin group stage; where each team plays all other teams in its group. The Kandy leg was held last weekend and the Colombo leg will be held on Saturday, the 14th December.

Finally, the winner of the Kandy Leg will play the winner of the Colombo Leg at the Grand Final, following the Colombo leg of the tournament on the 14th of December.

There will also be several food and game stalls at the event. 20 schools will be participating at this year’s Colombo leg, and several exhibition matches will also be played.

The event will kick off at 10 a.m on the 14th of December at the Racecourse grounds, Colombo 7. Be there to witness the thrills of Rugby!
