The IT Lab of the Primary Section was opened on the 19th of February 2014, by the Hon. Mr. Lalith Weeratunga.

Hon. Mr. Lalith Weeratunga, an esteemed old boy of this institution, was present in College premises on the 19th of February for the opening of the Primary Section IT Laboratory, which was established for the betterment of general College standards and for the increase in quality of learning of the Primary Section students, with regards to IT education.

IT is a major part of day to day lives in the present, therefore the Royal College Administration, through the support of the Royal College Old Boys’ Group of 93′, established this laboratory to begin IT education in Royal College from the Primary Section with an aim to better develop the skills and knowledge levels with regards to general as well as technical aspects of IT.

After the IT Laboratory was declared open, the newly refurbished Record Room which is located in the Main Building premises, was viewed by Hon. Mr. Lalith Weeratunga and the Principal of Royal College, together with the Senior Games Masters and the Senior Management of Royal College, after which, refreshments were served to our esteemed guest.

Hon. Mr. Lalith Weeratunga also devoted his time to address the academic staff at a special staff meeting which was organized to conclude the opening of the IT laboratory and the viewing of the newly refurbished Record Room!
