The Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer workshop organized by the Prefects’ Council of Royal College, took place on the 10th of April 2014, at the Royal College Union Skills Center.

The workshop commenced with the registration of the representatives from all Clubs and Societies, after which, the Principal Mr. Upali Gunasekera addressed the gathering and gave a few insightful thoughts with regards to the existence and service done and to be done by Clubs and Societies in College.

Activities of all sorts were included in the workshop, in between the intuitive sessions which were conducted by the guest speakers who have had no small part to play with regards to Clubs and Societies at Royal College.

The 3 sessions were on the duties and roles to be performed by a Secretary, a Treasurer and a Chairman of a club or a society, and the continuous self improvement as well as the improvement of the Club as a whole.

The comprehensive session on the improvement of Secretaries was done by Mr. Sakitha Kumarage, who was a Senior Prefect of College in the year 2012, while the session with regards to the improvement of Treasurers was done by Mr. Aneeq Hashim, who was a Deputy Head Prefect of Royal College in the year 2013.

Active sessions were done in between the presentations made by the guest speakers, where the Students who attended the program were given the opportunity to create their own Presentation and Project Proposal for one of their own ideas and was presented to the Senior Prefects at the end of the program.

The final session for the day was conducted by Mr. Shehan Gomesz, who was the Head Prefect in the year 2012, and Mr. Ameen Mohamed who was a Senior Prefect in the year 2012, and it was regarding the Role of a Chairman, which was comprehensively explained by both these guest speakers.

The program came to a close with the Head Prefect, Nipuna Ambanpola addressing the gathering.
