The Royal College Computer Society displayed its dominance in the field of Programming and Software Development by topping the tables at the Idea Challenge 2014, organized by The Information Technology and Communications Engineering Sectional Committee of the Institute of Engineers Sri Lanka.

The Society received the following accolades at the awards ceremony held on the 12th October at the BMICH.

Champions – Idea Challenge 2014
Team Members: Nipuna Munasinghe, Moveen Wickramarathne, Sadeep Darshana, Harindu Weerakkody.

Runners up
Team Members: Rajitha Abeysinghe, Nevindu Batagoda, Akila Paranawithana, Shane Amabashana.

The team that emerged runners up at this coveted competition also received the People’s Award which was chosen on a voting basis.

This year the competition was focused on Mobile Application Development mainly based on the open source Google Android mobile platform. Teams from over 40 different schools islandwide took part out of which the two teams comprising of both junior and senior members of the Royal College Computer Society emerged victorious.

A very impressive achievement by the Royal College Computer Society, and not for the first time this year, as this win would just add to there list of victories for the year 2014!
