Foster the Drama Island Wide…

Royal College Tamil Dramatic Society is stepping forward to its 55th Year. This Society has been actively organizing inter-grade drama competition, Inter School-Drama Competition and various other community services projects and participating in Drama Competitions Organized by other institutions.

Therefore annually the society organizes the inter-school drama competition at various districts across the island since 2011 at Jaffna, Batticalaoa, Hatton & Colombo. In addition to that in 2012 Trincomalee, Vavuniya districts were added and Mannar district was added in the year 2014 and finally the current committee added Kilinochchi district into the table.  Moving further in this year the committee has taken one step ahead and expand the range of participants from more than 50 schools from 8 districts it was a remarkable milestone in terms of Tamil drama island wide where according to our vision, students not only from our school but also from other schools get equal chance to improve their dramatic skills.

The journey for the 5th consecutive occasion this year commenced on the 23rd of May at Hatton Highlands College and ended on the 14th of June at Royal College. This year the competitions consisted of dramas along the themes of the culture of various ethnic religions, protecting women rights etc. It was a treat for the huge audience gathered at each competition to witness the dramas and support the respective cast of their college.

Promising talents were discovered from Hatton Highlands College, Batticaloa Methodist College, Trincomalee Shanmuga Hindu Ladies College, Kilinochi M/Odduchattan Maha Vidyalam, Jaffna Victoria College, Mannar St. Xavier College, Vavuniya Vibulanantha College & Ramanathan Hindu Ladies College as they emerged victorious at each Districts.
