Royal College secures unbeaten title.

The Royal vs St Joseph’s Rugby encounter, another much looked up to game of the season kicked off at the Royal College Sports Complex Grounds amidst much cheer from the crowds of fans of both teams that had gathered at the premises.

Play for the evening began with the Royal scoring their penalty to bring the scores to 3-0. It seemed another easy win as the ecstatic Royal fans cheered out in joy. However the St Joseph’s comeback that ensued turned out to be truly deadly.

Within ten minutes Joseph’s managed to turn the scores around with 2 goals and a penalty pushing Royal down to an uncomfortable 03-17.

The unbeaten team seemed to have met their match as their contenders stood firm clinging on to the lead they had got. It was around another quarter hour later that the Royal side finally made that much needed break through with a skilful try taking the score to 08-17. Conversion failed.

Royal had got that vibe of once more. Just minutes later another try ensued followed by a brilliant conversion, getting close to evening the tables with 15-17.

The first half was about to end with St Joseph’s on a lead when the scores were turned around with a last minute penalty followed by the whistles going out soon after. Half time broke out with Royal on a narrow lead of 18-17.

Soon the second half began. Royal seemed to display more strength on the field as they gave their opponents a hard time. At 60 minutes the next try was scored. Conversion was successful bringing a much safer lead of 25-17.

The Joseph’s team was in no way ready to give in as they made their comeback in the 68th minute taking the score to 25-22.

The Royal side managed to hold on until the whistles went off. Thus the encounter ended with Royal College securing their winning streak.
