The Royal College Flood Relief Campaign organized to help the victims of the prevalent weather conditions took place successfully on the 20th, 21st and 22nd of May.

The campaign started out on Friday, the 20th of May with the preparation of over 1000 lunch packets which were distributed among those affected by the floods. Everyone from the Principal, Senior Administration to Staff, Prefects and Stewards contributed their time and effort towards this initiative.

The second phase was the collection of dry rations and other necessary items for those affected. Collection points were established on either side of Rajakeeya Mawatha and at the College Hall. The collection process was carried out by members of the School’s many Clubs and Societies under the guidance of the Prefects’ Council. Students and Parents, Old Boys and many from the general public made their contributions.

Throughout the two days a successful collection  of over 1000 kg of Rice, over 2500 l of drinking water, dry food, clothing and stationary was made. All of us at Royal College wish to extend our heartiest gratitude to the many generous individuals who supported in countless ways.
