History and Background
Founded in 2005 by Prasad Priyakeerthi, the Royal College Aviation Society is the only society in Royal College which is dedicated entirely to the field of Aviation. Our aim is to educate, encourage and motivate young Aviation enthusiasts and to help them find their career in the field on Aviation. Some prominent projects of the society were the Wing Magazine, Annual lecture series and the field trips to the Bandaranaike International Airport and the Rathmalana Air force museum. We also hold joint-projects from time to time either with other clubs and societies in the school or with Aviation Societies from schools.
Although young, the Aviation Society has faced many challenges throughout the years, some very trivial and some rather dire. Though in some challenges victory for us was not easy, we triumphed in many other obstacles that we faced.
Now with over 100 members strong and having support from ever helpful Master-In-Charge Mr. W.S.U. Botheju, the Senior Games Master and our Principal, we carry on with our aim, to educate young students about Aviation and in the process, to repay our Alma Mater and to make Royal proud.
- To conquer the crown among Young Aviators in Sri Lanka
- Unite talented young minds and lead them to use their talents to strengthen the club
