A result was unpredictable till the last minute as subsequently the game which was well compiled by both teams ended in a 2-2 draw. Furqan Irfan and Sajad Irshad were the scorers for Royal. The game which was called for penalty strokes was the ultimate decider as to who would be crowned as the under 18 Western Province Champions 2015. However, the lads from Reid Avenue proved their supremacy by emerging victorious in the penalties by 5 goals to 3. Thus, Royal College emerged as unbeaten champions for the 3rd consecutive year.

Royal College who are also the current holders of the National Schools Championship which was comprehensively retained in 2014 will now look forward to defend this prestigious title as the under 18 team has made its alma mater proud by qualifying into the National Schools Games 2015. The Under 18 team for this year would make their way into the National Schools Games which is due to be held in September as a team comprising of vastly experienced youngsters who have radiantly supported their seniors in all the prestigious victories in the year 2014. Therefore, it is of high anticipation and expectation that the Royal College team would defend the National Schools Games Championship which is considered as the epitome of schools’ hockey in Sri Lanka for yet another year…….
