Wesley college finally made a much needed breakthrough when their forward went over the line to score a try which was subsequently converted 14 – 7. However Royal College increased their lead after being awarded a penalty which was successfully secured yet again by Ovin Askey setting the score at 17 – 7.

The final few minutes of the game saw a window of opportunity being opened for the Wesleyites when they managed to break through the Royal defence and bring the score up to 17 – 14.
