On an invitation from the Australian Hockey ACT, Via the Sri Lanka High Commission in Canberra, The Royal College Hockey Team who are the current National School Champions will be participating in a tour to Australia from the 23rd of March to the 1st of April 2017.

On tour they will play 5 matches with one match under lights. Another note worthy feature is that there will be a training program conducted by Australian U-21 Coach Ben Bishop who was also a member of the coaching staff of the Olympic Gold Medal winning Australian team.

The team has enjoyed immense success ore the last decade, playing together from the Under-9 category from 2008, winning numerous tournaments throughout various age groups, finally going to retain all for trophies in the year 2016, namely against S. Thomas College, Trinity College, Wesley College and Kingswood College.

The Senior Hockey Team has performed exceptionally in recent years,winning the national schools championship four times in the last decade. A tour such as this will undoubtedly be a rich source of experience for the team to continue their high standards of performance in the years to come.
