Ninura Ranasinghe shines in Poland clinching 1st place

Sahan Gunewardena placed 1st runner-up at national tournament

This month saw some commendable achievements in Air Rifle Shooting with the Royal Squad displaying unparalleled excellence at both national and international levels. In fact the entire squad has been one of the premier school level ones constantly showcasing immense skill and talent with numerous accomplishments.

Their pinnacle of success for this year can be considered as the achievement made by Ninura Ranasinghe at the International Rifle Shooting Tournament held in Poland from the 26th of February to the 16th of March. Exhibiting some laudable skills at shooting he managed to clench the award for the 1st place at the 60 pellet pistol event scoring 517/600. In addition he managed to get placed 2nd at the 15 pellet pistol event scoring 82/100. The level of accomplishment displayed by the air rifle shooting squad seems to mark the beginnings of a promising future. The unabated support extended by the Sri Lanka Schools Shooting Sports Association was also instrumental in paving the path for these achievements.

Also the Navy National Air Rifle & Air Pistol Tournament for Sri Lankan Schools concluded on the 13th of March with the Royal College team showcasing some equally promising talent at this event as well. Sahan Gunewardena emerged as 1st runner up at the Junior Navy National Air Rifle/Air Pistol Tournament with some brilliant performance. He was also awarded 3rd place at the Schools Navy National Air Rifle/Air Pistol Tournament in the rifle 60 pellet category event scoring 519 points out of 600.
