Royal kick off the Rugby Season on the wrong foot, being outplayed by Science College at the very first game of the season. Royal started off strong by scoring the first points of the game through a Penalty, but as the game went on, Royal’s mistakes began to increase making opportunities more and more abundant to the Science College side. Royal’s line outs, tackling, catching and overall defense was not up to the expected standard which resulted in the game ending with the scores at Royal 19 – 36 Science. Royal toiled hard pushing forward, but were unable to make a brake – through except for a solitary try scored by Yasoun Weerasooriya in the final 10 minutes of the game.

The team will look to regroup after this defeat and comeback strong against Kingswood College and start building a steady run towards the Bradby!
