The Inaugural Rifle Shooting Workshop 2014
The Rifle Shooting club of Royal College was established in the year 2011 with the proposal put forth by the Prefects’ Council of Royal College 12/13. Since then, the Rifle shooting club of Royal College has taken part in many activities in practicing and participating the sport of shooting in different categories and arenas.
The inaugural Rifle Shooting workshop was held on the 3rd of February 2014 at the College White board Room from 2pm onwards. Mr. Upali Gunasekara, Principal of Royal College was invited for the event as the Chief Guest. Mr. Harsha Wickremesuriya – The Technical Chairman of the Sri Lanka Schools Association, Major Dunken Rathnayake – Sri Lanka Army was also present and these distinguished invitees shared their experience and knowledge about Rifle Shooting as a sport and as a life experience with the students.
New, past and present members of the Rifle Shooting club of Royal College graced this occasion. The Army Shooters Team also demonstrated the safety measures, posture in firing and other various activities in order to enlighten the students. The Workshop concluded at 4.00pm
