Skipper and Deputy lead the team with a five wicket haul and a century.

The 1^st XI tournament match between Royal College and Maris Stella College was held on the 25^th and 26^th of January, 2016 at Reid Avenue. This was Royal’s sixth tournament game.

Maris Stella skipper won the toss and invited the Royalists to bat first. Royalists’ batting clicked as they were able to put up a mammoth 348/7 in 65.3 overs at tea and declared. Royal deputy Thiran scored his 3^rd hundred of the season as he managed a quick fire 120* runs in just 79 deliveries. Pasindu Sooriyabandara scored his maiden half ton (63). Ronuka (40) Kulith (36) Himesh (33) also made valuable contributions.

Royals bowling department who has been consistent throughout the season made sure to keep their opponents at 213. They were struggling at 108/7 but a 90 run stand for the 9^th wicket gave them some closure.

Maris Stella who were 135 runs behind was forced to follow-on and in the end managed 291 in 58.2 overs. Skipper Geeshath Panditharatne who picked his first fifer of the season was the pick of the bowlers.
