The Annual colours awarding ceremony for the year 2018 took place on the 5th of April 2019. The year 2018 concluded as one of the greatest years for Royal College in the sporting arena. It was a year when eleven out of thirteen Royal-Thomian encounters were won. This included the Royal-Thomian sailing encounter which was won by Royal College for the first time and the Dr. R.L. Hayman trophy for water polo after five long years.

Such exceptional achievements where what were celebrated on this starry night as 324 colours men took the stage to receive their colours and merits. Which is one of the greatest numbers ever to walk on the colours night stage. The stage was also graced by performances of The Sinhala Dramatic Society, The Oriental Music Society and The Dancing Society, entertaining the gathering in a Royal standard.
