The Prefects’ Council recently organized a remarkable city tour for our Grade 6 hostellers — a three-day experience designed to combine education with enjoyment, while helping students build lasting connections with their peers and surroundings.

The grade 6 hostellers city tour began with an insightful visit to the National Museum, where students explored ancient artifacts and exhibits that vividly brought Sri Lankan history and culture to life. That evening, a lively play session with the prefects helped foster camaraderie and a sense of community.

On the second day, the group visited Independence Square, a powerful symbol of our national heritage, followed by a stroll through the vibrant Independence Arcade. Later in the day, they toured the Royal College Sports Complex, gaining exposure to various sporting facilities and drawing inspiration from the world of sports.

Lunch was served in a railway carriage at Diyatha Station Restaurant, following a serene boat ride on Diyawanna Lake — a highlight that brought novelty and joy to the day. Back at school, students participated in a reflective group discussion about hostel life, sharing personal insights and lessons learned during the tour. The trip concluded with a special dinner at the SSC VIP Lounge — a venue rich in tradition as the host of the historic Battle of the Blues, making it a fitting finale to an unforgettable experience.
