We as the Tamil Karnatic Music Society of Royal College plan to carry out many successful projects upholding the name of the club. We plan to carry out our projects focusing on 5 main avenues, namely; Voice Of Royal, Inter grade competition, Inter school competition, Isai Vizha and O/L seminar.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic we plan to carry out the vast majority of our projects online. First we have planned to start off our Tamil Karnatic Music Society’s year through the project “Know Your Music” where we plan to share photo posters of unknown facts about Karnatic Music via social media platforms. Furthermore, we plan to carry out the project “Voice Of Royal”, where we plan to show case our talented young Royalists with their singing talent.
The winner of this competition will be awarded a memorable trophy and a certificate. Next we plan to carry out Inter grade competition in which we hope to bring out hidden talents of students to those who have been keen to show case their talents in Karnatic Music in both literary and vocals. We also have planned to start the inter school competition where the students can participate from any part of Colombo and winners will be awarded with certificates and cup.
Next we plan to carry out the project Orchestra auditions in which we plan to conduct through zoom online platform, student from Royal College can participate in this audition. Along with that we will be also organizing Chorale Auditions which will be also scheduled to take place online. Finally for this quarter we plan to carry out the annual “Isai Vizha” which is a musical event will be held as a virtual music event. For the final quarter of the year we plan to start the quarter with G.C.E O/L seminar for students who taking Karnatic Music as a subject for G.C.E O/L Examination with a motive of achieving a good results in their examination.
All in all, the club plans to carry out a multiplicity of highly successful projects hoping to once again reinforce itself as a long standing Tamil Karanatic Music Society of Royal College in the Island
