The majority of young minds enter the institution at the tender age of six through Grade 1 admissions. Spanning a vast array of different cultures, religions and ethnicities, the composition of each batch is diverse yet tightly knit. From the moment a student enters the Boake Gates the trivial distinctions of cultural identity, beliefs and wealth become irrelevant. Instead, students define themselves via the strength of character and integrity- taking pride in a shared identity as Royalists.
In the sixth year of study, following the results of the Grade 5 Scholarship exam, there is an addition to the ranks in the form of some of the brightest young minds in Sri Lanka. Integration happens seamlessly at the start of the sixth year with students taking it upon themselves to make their new classmates feel welcome and a strong sense of camaraderie is soon built up.
Finally, in the aftermath of the Ordinary Level Examination, the register grows for a final time with students from across the country being given the opportunity to take their education to the highest possible standard. Despite having but two years left as students, the new Advanced Level batches stand at the forefront of school activities, taking the initiative, be it in academics, sports, or clubs & societies.
While these are the primary 3 points of entry into the College, a student may enter into school at any other point if necessary, provided that the school administration provides permission.
