Royal College Aeronautics Society(RCAES) (previously- Royal Aviation Society-renamed after 2018) since its inception in 2005, has been the pioneer in the College in igniting and sustaining the passion for aviation in young minds.
Starting with Mr Prasad Priyakeerthi as chairman, the society could be said to have led some celebrated 17 years, due to the specific leadership and assistance received from all divisions concerned, including the office-bearers, masters-in-charge, the principals, and last but not least our beloved members.
To glimpse a slice of its eventful past, “Sky Fiesta” and “Aero’ 10” were some of the society’s prime highlights in recent history; being all-aviation-related exhibitions and workshops held parallel to the launch of our magazine “The Wing” and “Aero’10 Quiz Competition”.
Further, RCAES is popular in the college for holding other exhibitions, seminars, model-plane flying workshops, quiz competitions and even field trips among our ever-growing member base.
Within its relatively short history, RCAES has garnered national recognition as a non-profit organization spearheading efforts of the aviation industry in school students and has subsequently built up strong solidarity with the Sri Lanka Air Force and the Aeronautical Association of Sri Lanka.
Even faced with a global pandemic society was on a roll adapting to a complete transformation online and providing nourishment, for the voracious student, throughout 2020 up to date.
—–Every new year is promising but the future is even more promising for us aviation enthusiasts here at RCAES.—-
Was on its mettle to provide our members with aviation
And promise about 2022.
