The Royal College Automobile Association (RCAA) was established in 2025 by its first inaugural chairman, Danuja Kaluarachchi, to cultivate a deeper understanding and appreciation of the global automobile industry among students. With a vision of promoting innovation, inclusiveness, and technical literacy, the association has designed an ambitious and multifaceted year plan that merges education, real-world exposure, and creative expression through a series of impactful projects.

Torquefest’25 stands as the Association’s flagship event—a large-scale motor show that aims to be a national-level celebration of Sri Lanka’s automotive culture and innovation. It will feature an expansive exhibition of classic, modern, electric, and futuristic vehicles, industry expert discussions, student-led booths, and corporate brand activations. The event will conclude with a lively music festival, fostering a sense of community and celebration alongside educational value.

AutoForge’25 is an educational initiative structured in two phases. The first phase involves expert-led lectures introducing students to various career paths and technologies in the automotive field. The second phase includes hands-on workshops, where students interact with vehicle parts such as engines and pistons, allowing them to link classroom theory with real-world mechanical applications. This project aims to inspire curiosity, technical insight, and career interest in engineering and automotive design.

Quizhaust’25 is an academic competition designed to boost automotive knowledge and foster intellectual engagement. It includes an intra-school inter-class quiz championship for students from Grades 6 to 11, followed by an inter-school quiz featuring delegations from other leading institutions. This initiative encourages critical thinking, teamwork, and academic excellence through structured competition and collaboration.

Revline’25 marks the Association’s entry into the digital space with the creation of a student-developed website and a weekly social media campaign. The website will serve as a digital hub for club activities, technical articles, and media archives, while the social platforms will share engaging automotive fact content to promote consistent knowledge-sharing and visibility within and beyond the school community.

Autovision’25 is an educational field trip aimed at deepening students’ understanding of modern vehicle systems and automotive innovation. Participants will visit key automotive institutions and engage in hands-on activities such as engine exploration, diagnostics, and sustainability-themed quizzes. The journey fosters technical exposure, teamwork, and reflection, offering students a comprehensive view of the industry’s present and future.

MotorMinds’25 is a pre-recorded interview series featuring renowned motorsport figures such as Dilantha Malagamuwa and Yevan David. This YouTube-based project highlights personal journeys, industry insights, and behind-the-scenes experiences in motorsports, aiming to inspire the next generation of automotive enthusiasts.

Motorix’25 is the first official magazine of the RCAA, combining student articles with expert contributions. It will include data, interviews, history, and light-hearted content, available in both printed and digital formats. The magazine fosters writing, editing, and leadership skills among students while strengthening industry connections.

The Renovation Project targets the school’s transportation fleet, focusing on upgrading safety, comfort, and technology. It includes mechanical, electrical, and structural enhancements, along with the implementation of a long-term maintenance plan.

Together, these projects define a bold and innovative roadmap, positioning the RCAA as a pioneer in school-level automotive education and engagement.
