The Royal College faced Wesley College at home on the 16th and 17th of April. Winning the toss Royal had a go with the bat first. The openers Isiwara Dissanayake and Ashane Gamage looked positive but didn’t get starts, both falling pray to Wesleys Zhakirthans brilliant pace. The Royal middle struggled yet again to build partnerships but young gun Dasis Manchanayake once again helped steer the ship clear from a low score with impressive 78. Royal were bowled out for a below average 188.

The Wesley openers walked in looking to score big only to give away their wickets to the Royal pace trio Pathirathne, Amarasekara and Poddiwala. Wesley were bowled out for 99 just enough to prevent a follow on. Vice Captain Kavindu Pathirathne starred with the ball picking three crucial wickets.

The Royal openers walked onto the pitch but once again failed to get a good start falling early to the spinners of the bowling unit. Young gun Sadisha Rajapaksha played positive for his 33 alongside skipper Ahan batting patiently to get 26. Royal ended on 138 for 7 when play was called off in a draw.
