The service year for the Cadet Contingent in 2021 had set to begin in January and end in December. Due to the current pandemic situations, practices are not being held physically. The orientations and theory lessons are accomplished via Zoom Webinars through National Cadet Corps Head Quarters- Rantambe.

In February, the selected amount of cadets who are skilled in their drill will be selected to take part in the Independence Day Parade and to represent Royal College.
40 cadets of all the platoons will be qualified to participate in the Annual Sports Meet Parade held in March, which is a major event in the school calendar.
In the selection camps, the best 2 platoons of the 3rd Battalion will be selected for the Annual Assessment Camp held in May.
The Annual Assessment Camp is held in the NCCTC- Rantambe. The top 2 platoons which scored the highest marks in the camp will be selected for the Herman Loose camp. The platoon will be awarded as meritsmen in the Annual Colours Awarding Ceremony.
The Herman Loose Challenge Trophy Camp, which is the major event in the service year of cadets is set to happen in October. The winners of the Herman Loose Trophy will be promoted as the President’s Cadets Platoon of the year and will be awarded the NCC Colours. The platoon will be facilitated as the School Coloursmen in the Colours Awarding Ceremony.
The Guard of Honor parade is held to tribute to a newly promoted high ranker of the forces or to take part in the Annual Prize Giving Ceremony at the Royal College premises.
