Squash was first played as a sport at Royal College in 1997. Since then, the Royal College squash team has set high standards in the schools’ squash circuit. The school has not only produced exceptional players at the school level but has also nurtured athletes who have gone on to represent Sri Lanka, with one of the most notable recent achievements being a medal at the South Asian Games.
In 2024, Royal College continued its dominance in the sport, emerging as the Inter-Schools Overall Champions, with both the A and B teams also securing championship titles in their respective categories. Further highlighting the school’s strength in squash, seven Royalists were selected to represent Sri Lanka at the Asian Junior Individual Squash Championship 2024. Additionally, two players were chosen to represent the country in the Asian Junior Team Championship 2025.
