Mr. B. A. Abeyrathna assumed duties as the newly appointed Principal of Royal College on the 14th of January, 2016. The official Reception Ceremony amidst blessings of the clergy of all faiths represented at Royal College took place on the 18th of January with the participation of the Members of the Senior Administration and Academic Staff, School Development Society, Royal College Union, Prefects’ Council and other well wishers.

Mr. Abeyrathna, who is a Class 01 Officer of the Sri Lanka Education Administrative Service, previously served as the Principal of Nugawela Central College – Kandy, Kingswood College – Kandy, Bandaranayake College – Gampaha, Ananda College – Colombo and Thurstan College – Colombo. He has also served as the Director for Sports at the Ministry of Education.
